🤖 Understanding AI Detection Results

What does “*% detected as AI” mean?

If your report shows a * instead of a number, it means your AI score is low (between 1% and 19%).

  • Interpretation: The system suspects these might be "False Positives" (human writing mistaken for AI).
  • Verdict: Since the update on July 17, 2025, this is considered a "lenient range." Unless your institution demands a strict 0%, this result is generally safe and can be interpreted as effectively 0%.

Why did the AI Report fail?

The official Turnitin AI system has strict requirements:

  • Language: Must be English or Spanish only.
  • Word Count: Between 320 and 29,999 words.
  • Format: Documents like PPT or images are not supported.
  • Integrity: You must use the account provided by us. Using external Assignment IDs will cause a retrieval failure.

💡 Expert Tips & FAQs

1. Why is the similarity rate higher than my university's report?

Our system is set to "Maximum Strictness." We scan everything, including your Reference List. Universities often filter these out. It is better to see a "higher" score now and fix it than to be surprised by your professor later.

2. What do the colored highlights and numbers mean?

Each color/number represents a different source (e.g., another student's paper or a website).

  • (1) = The source with the highest similarity.
  • (2) = The second highest, and so on.

3. Why did a "clean" section get flagged after I edited the paper?

AI detection is Holistic, not static.

  • Unlike plagiarism (which looks for matching text), AI detection analyzes logic, flow, and structure.
  • Example: If you edit Section C, the "rhythm" of the entire paper changes. The AI might now flag Section A because the new context looks more "machine-like" to the algorithm.
  • Advice: Always re-run a check after making any edits, even small ones.

⚠️ Important Privacy Reminder
